Wrestling

Lately Jake and Miles will spontaneously wrestle each other. It is usually initiated by Jake, and usually okay with Miles...usually. It's pretty funny because it cracks them up. A video would be better than pictures, but I'll have to keep trying.

Hats

All of a sudden Jake loves wearing hats. He has three: a baseball hat, a floppy fishing-style hat and the birthday hat pictured below. He just grabs one, walks up to you and sticks it in your face until you put it on his head. It's so funny. Miles wants absolutely nothing to do with a hat. I'll get some pictures of Jake in his other styles soon.

Dallas

We made our first trip to Dallas this weekend and just got back this afternoon. It was such a fun time! We stayed with Granny, played with Harlan, saw some friends Friday night, had a playdate on Saturday morning, went to Harlan's house on Saturday afternoon and went to a wedding on Saturday night. It was a busy weekend. The boys did great and had a wonderful time. We were a little worried about them sleeping in their pack n plays because they haven't done that since they were about 4 months old, but they slept like champs. On Saturday night Granny and a babysitter fed the boys their dinner and put them to bed, which also went really well. Here are some pictures...

Finally!

We finally had an opportunity to take Cassidy swimming this weekend! It's been a long time between her health issues, the weather, and us being out of town. She LOVED it! The boys had a great time, too. They loved watching the dogs, the water and the kayaks. Here are a few pictures of her relishing her morning...

Some assembly required...

For the boys' birthday they got an awesome Radio Flyer scooter (Thanks, Aunt Robby!). I didn't think they were quite ready for it and so I tucked it away...a little too far away! I would have brought it out a while ago if I was thinking about it, but things have been crazy...so out of sight out of mind. But the important thing is that I found it today and oh my goodness, Jake and Miles are in love! They were also wonderful assistants this afternoon, helping Mirinda put it together. While I took pictures.

Miles - such a proud helper as he hands the screw driver to Mirinda
As you can imagine, that did not taste good. At all. Please don't judge me for taking a picture instead of yanking it out of his mouth. It was all of a split second before it was over!
Helping. They really were mesmerized the whole time we worked on it

Don't tell them it's not a two-seater!
Miles was pretty much a scooter-hog for the rest of the afternoon

Happy Rosh Hashanah!

We celebrated Rosh Hashanah this past weekend with some of Peter's family. I didn't get many pictures, but we had a great time. Happy New Year!

Miles - checking out some puzzles
Jake discovered the piano...fascinating
Jake playing with some of Jude's super cool trucks

Just another day at the office

This week Jake and Miles visited Dada at work and had a blast! It seemed like a slow day at the office so the boys had the run of the place.

Miles working
Jake making some copies
Running up and down the hall, running in and out of offices. At least they weren't disruptive... ;)
Miles enjoying the view of downtown from Dada's office
Even the hardest workers deserve a break

Rainy day activities

Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled that it's finally raining here in Austin. It's LONG overdue. It just makes the boys a little stir crazy when we can't get out and about as much as normal. I mean, they have to find a way to pass the time...right? We turned our backs for 30 seconds and look what happened!

*Please note the football game on in the background. At least they like to watch sports while they wear bows in their hair.

Baby Gray...

Last night my friends and I hosted a baby shower for Jill, who is due in another 5 weeks with Baby Gray. We can't wait to meet him and it was such a fun time! Jake and Miles had a great time with dada and really kept him on his toes. We seem to be in a cycle of never ending teething right now, which is how it goes I guess. Miles is working on his third and forth molars (teeth # 9 & 10) and Jake is working on a couple on the bottom (#11 & 12 for him). But all went well and I enjoyed a fun night out.

Happy Birthday Taffy!

We packed up the whole crew and went to Houston this weekend and had such a blast! We partied with Taffy, Papa, Milly, Andy & Lucy. Taffy's birthday was Sunday and it was wonderful to get to all be together. We went over to play with Lucy at her house, played at her neighborhood playground and even went to the Houston Children's Museum! Whew...it was a busy weekend. I've put a few pictures here, but the rest are here...
