Christmas Party...

Complete with the Christmas story, cookie decorating, Frosty the Snowman and a sticker art project. Serious fun.

Christmas Chapel

Miles and Jake had a special Christmas Chapel at their preschool last week and the parents were invited. It was so sweet. They told the Christmas story and sang songs. After that we headed back to their room where they had ice cream and gave us some presents that they had made for us. Then they had a surprise visit from Santa...Jake was not a fan. He finally stopped crying long enough to accept the candy cane...he's warming up. Their class at our church/preschool, the teachers and kids are so sweet.

Ice cream party!
Yummy! (Yes, I dressed them alike. I don't think that has happened since they were about 6 months old, but I couldn't find any other cute Christmas shirts. Plus, they look cute!)

Jake and Miles really got into helping decorate the Christmas tree this year...

Hannukah

We celebrated Hanukkah with Poppy, Robyn's family and Philippa's family. Once again...tons of fun!

The boys are IN LOVE with these guitars. We have been getting all kinds of musical performances and impromptu concerts from Jake and Miles. There is more to come from these guitars...I'm hoping to get a video soon because it is really awesome. We had to set up a special skype session with Taffy & Papa so that they could preform for them. They've been asking for guitars for a while now and have hardly put them down since they got them. Thanks, Poppy!

Thanksgiving 2010

We spent Thanksgiving in Dallas at Gigi's house and had so much fun! The boys enjoyed every second of it.

This was what we got when we asked them to "group hug!"

Where was I...?

Oh yes...somewhere before Thanksgiving. We've been having some fun around here. It seems like it's one thing after another. I guess that is how it goes when there are holidays and small people involved. Here are a few random pictures. There are more to come from Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas prep festivities!

Miles playing with some beans

We were in Dallas for Thanksgiving but had a mini-Thanksgiving party before we left. We had dinner and watched Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving.

Austin Zoo

We finally went to the Austin Zoo...I can't believe it was out first time to visit! It was so much fun. It is a different, smaller zoo but that makes it very accessible and pretty easy with little ones. Plus they have a train.

The animals are all rescued animals. Some were rescued from the circus and many were animals that people tried to have as pets and couldn't care for, etc. We will definitely be back for more visits. We spent a couple of hours out there; checking out the animals, riding the train and having a picnic lunch that we brought with us.

Peter and Miles. They just. will. not. smile. for. pictures.
Mommy and Jake.

A huge turkey.

When you pay admission you get some food to feed the deer, goats and sheep. The boys thought this was awesome. Some of the goats got pretty aggressive and we had to cut it off after a while. Jake almost lost an arm.

Feeding time.

Peacocks wandering the grounds
A giant pig. Really...you can't tell how huge he is in this picture.
These lions (formerly circus lions in poor conditions) were VERY hungry and rammed the fence when we walked up.
Jake and Miles watching the female lions (formerly house pets!?).
