A girls trip!

I recently went on a girls' weekend in New Orleans with my college girlfriends. It was so much fun! I did miss my boys terribly, but had a wonderful time getting away and catching up with my friends. Peter, Gigi and the boys had a fun weekend in Austin. Peter said that one night after he put them to bed he was listening to them chatter and overheard a funny conversation....
Jake: "Mama, mama. I want mama"
Miles: "No, mama's on her girls' trip."
That made me laugh!

Here are a few hi-lights...

In front of our hotel. We were on our way to one of the delicious dinners we had. It's all about the food there.
A New Orleans street performer taking a break.
We went to see some music one night.
Mmmmm...Cafe Du Monde
Jake and Miles were very excited when I brought them home some mardi gras beads!

Say "cheese!"

Beckett, Miles and Jake...party time! Here are the boys up to their usual craziness.

Hilton Head 2010

We had such a wonderful trip to Hilton Head this year. The boys loved every second of it and I can't believe how much fun I had just watching them soak it all in. They are never happier than when they are surrounded by the people that they love. And the beach didn't hurt. They were in heaven. Last year's vacation was fun, but also a lot of work...the boys were not walking, were not that into the sand, and were still taking multiple naps each day which made getting to the beach a challenge. This year was such a different story. It was so much fun and I will admit to shedding a few tears when it was time for us to leave. Here are some pictures.

Peanut butter and jelly sammies on the plane. They were so good on the plane! Brand new doodle boards kept them busy for a while.
