Playtime!

One room at a time. We are finally baby-proofed in the kitchen. It's so nice because now I can let the boys play around in there while I get their meals together - instead of them sitting in their high-chairs screaming while I scramble to get food on their trays. Here they are enjoying their new found kitchen freedom. Playing, snacking, drinking.

Soooo much fun!

Just playing around.

We don't have a magnetic refrigerator so we put up this board for the boys.

Best. Toy. Ever.

Most mornings Jake, Miles & I go to Starbucks to have some coffee (I'm the only one that has coffee). I have found the key to buying myself about 20 minutes to sit and enjoy the coffee. Plastic Starbucks cups. Empty cups. The boys love them. They are actually still in the car. Every time that we went somewhere today the boys were totally happy to sit there and play with their awesome, shiny, new cups. Thank you Starbucks.

Backyard water park

Jake and Miles got this awesome water play toy from Grandma & Grandpa Bush. Here they are cooling off in the beginning of the Austin summer.

new site

Hello all. I'm moving the site from the mac address to this blogspot address. It's a little more user-friendly (for readers and publisher!). I've been meaning to post for a while now, so here it is. Jake & Miles are one year old (May 19)! I can hardly believe it! We had a big weekend here...birthday party, baptism, friends, family. Whew! It was so wonderful and so special. We missed our friends and family who could not be here.

We have officially made it through the first year with twins. Don't get me wrong...it's been amazing. But it's also been really hard. There were times where I think I honestly wondered if we would get here. Thankfully the stuff that sticks with me is the awesome stuff. I must be the luckiest mama in the world. They are the best. And there are two of them! I can only imagine the bond that these two little boys will continue to create as they grow. They play together more & more every day. Miles and Jake are so cool. And so different. I couldn't begin to sum up their personalities in a brief blog post, but here is a start...

Jake - the constant observer. He is always taking everything in, a little more thoughtful with his giggles and smiles. He is feisty, silly, sweet, loving, funny, stubborn, thoughtful.

Miles - the wild one. He is always smiling and laughing. A man of extremes. Miles is playful, wild, happy, focused, fearless, energetic, loving.

Here are some recent pictures from their birthday weekend. The full album is here - http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLanding.action?c=oxd37wx.562j0es1&x=1&y=sv0iin&localeid=en_US
